The Tradition of Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea is more than just a meal—it’s an experience steeped in history and elegance. Originating in 19th-century England, afternoon tea was introduced by the Duchess of Bedford, who sought a light meal to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner. Over time, this tradition evolved into a refined social gathering, complete with delicate finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries.
At The Westville, we embrace this tradition while adding our own unique twist, bringing you a modern yet classic afternoon tea experience in the heart of Fermanagh’s Lakelands.
The Westville’s Picnic Afternoon Tea – A Culinary Delight
Our Picnic Afternoon Tea is designed to be a feast for the senses, featuring a selection of savoury and sweet delights, complemented by premium teas. Served in an elegant setting, our afternoon tea is an invitation to unwind and savour each bite.
Savoury Selections – A Perfect Start
The first course of our afternoon tea experience is a delightful array of savouries, made using the finest locally sourced ingredients:
- Sausage Roll Bites – A crisp, flaky pastry filled with seasoned sausage meat.
- Gammon & Cheddar Melt – A mouth-watering combination of rich cheddar and tender gammon.
